Addressing Psychological Reversals

Psychological Reversals (PR's) are hidden beliefs that can stand in the way of improvement on any issue. Sometimes we aren't even aware that we have these beliefs - and this is when they are the most detrimetal to our progress. Usually the "Setup Phrase" portion of EFT sufficiently addresses PR's. However sometimes there are even deeper, more global blocks to healing - that's when doing additional PR work can be beneficial. Psychological Reversals are most commonly present in issues such as weight loss, addictions, depression and some illnesses, where there is a perceived benefit to keeping the issue (i.e."If I am sick people will pay attention to me.")

If you are blocked on any issue, repeat each of the following statements 3 times while rubbing the Sore Spot. You may customize them to your issue by changing the word "problem" to your specific issue. Once you have done the entire list, go back to using regular EFT on your issue and see if progress improves. If not, you might need to do these PR statements daily for several days or up to 2 weeks to fully address and correct the PR's keeping you from getting over your problem. Also, once corrected, sometimes reversals can "come back," so be persistent until you make permanent gains on your issue.

Note: Some people have reported that doing PR statements while rubbing the Sore Spot makes you sleepy! So it is recommended to do these right before bed.

Repeat 3 Times Each While Rubbing the Sore Spot:

Global PR: "Even with all my problems, I deeply and completely love and accept myself." (or customize to "Even with my weight issue" or other specific problem.)

Deserving PR: "Even if part of me believes I don't deserve to get over this problem, I deeply and completely love and accept myself."

Safety of Self PR: "Even if part of me believes it isn't safe for me to get over this problem, I deeply and completely love and accept myself."

Safety of Others PR: "Even if part of me believes it isn't safe for others for me to get over this problem, I deeply and completely love and accept myself."

Not Possible PR: "Even if part of me believes it isn't possible for me to get over this problem, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. "

Allowing PR: "Even if I will not allow myself to get over this problem, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. "

Necessary PR: "Even if I will not do what's necessary to get over this problem, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. "

Benefit of Self PR: "Even if part of me believes getting over this problem will not be good for me, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. "

Benefit of Others PR:
"Even if part of me believes getting over this problem will not be good for others, I deeply and completely love and accept myself." (This is a surprisingly common one -- the fear that others in your life will feel threatened if you get over your problem. Similar to the "Safety of Others PR" above.)

Unique Block PR: "Even if I have a unique block to getting over this problem, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. "
